I will offer you a grounded and non-judgemental space to explore what is troubling you just now including anxiety, low mood, relationships and trauma.
About Anne Goodall
My journey to becoming a therapist began around 15 years ago. My early career was in commercial roles in a multinational company and then I spent precious and invaluable time with my young family.
Upon return to the workplace I retrained studying psychology at Undergraduate and Masters level and then completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling.
Alongside my academic path, I have worked with individuals in the early stages of substance mis-use recovery in a private rehabilitation centre. I volunteered as a ParentLine call taker supporting individuals concerned for the immediate safety and wellbeing of children. A further volunteering role offered the opportunity to work with people with complex neurological conditions.
I also have extensive experience supporting young adults with mental health and wellbeing challenges when at university. I have worked as a therapist at PF Counselling in Edinburgh as well as in private practice.
My work and life experience has given me the utmost respect and admiration for the human spirit to face adversity and use its strength to change and adapt when something doesn't feel right or is not working. Through engaging in my own therapy I have personal experience of how a therapy can encourage personal change and growth.

About counselling
Counselling or therapy offers a safe space for you to talk about difficult experiences or feelings you may be having now or had in the past. You may be seeking therapy to talk about something specific or it might be a general feeling that something is not quite right.
A therapist does not tell you what to do, but will offer you freedom and safety to explore what is happening for you. In a therapeutic relationship it is important that you feel you are truly being heard.
You are the expert on you but the therapist may offer a different perspective and observations about what is happening in the therapy room which is a contained version of what happens in the outside world. In this way you can expand understanding and awareness of your responses, feelings and emotions and ultimately the process of therapy can lead to change and growth for you, the client.

What to expect
Therapy sessions are ususally weekly at the same time and day and last for 50 minutes.
We can work together short term (usually minimum 6 weeks) or on a longer term basis depending on your needs.
We can decide whether to meet in person or online.
You can talk about what is important for you - this may be current or past experiences, thoughts and feelings or hopes for your future.
You can find more information in the Frequently Asked Questions section.
