Supporting you through life’s challenges with respect, care and curiousity

About counselling

Counselling or therapy offers a safe space for you to talk about difficult experiences or feelings you may be having now or had in the past. You may be seeking therapy to talk about something specific or it might be a general feeling that something is not quite right.

A therapist does not tell you what to do, but will offer you freedom and safety to explore what is happening for you. In a therapeutic relationship it is important that you feel you are truly being heard. You are the expert on you but the therapist may offer a different perspective and observations about what is happening within the therapeutic relationship. In this way you can expand understanding and awareness of your responses, feelings and emotions and ultimately the process of therapy can lead to change and growth for you, the client.

What to expect

Therapy sessions are ususally weekly at the same time and day and last for 50 minutes.

We can work together short term (usually minimum 6 weeks) or on a longer term basis depending on your needs.

We can decide whether to meet in person or online.

You can talk about what is important for you - this may be current or past experiences, thoughts and feelings or hopes for your future.

How to get started

Finding a new therapist can be a daunting prospect and I would like to make this easier for you.

I hope you find useful information about me and my approach to therapy on this website but you may have more questions to ask.

You can contact me to arrange a free 20 minute video or telephone conversation by completing the contact form.

We can explore what you are seeking help with and what you might hope to change by engaging in therapy. There is no obligation to meet again after this conversation and you can take time to consider whether working with me feels like the right fit for you.

I look forward to hearing from you.
